Thank You, True Leaders

“Management is about persuading people to do things they do not want to do, while leadership is about inspiring people to do things they never thought they could.”

Have you ever worked alongside a natural-born leader, one who leads with genuine grace and humility? One can learn so much about how to be a professional through an encouraging leader. When the leader is part of the action, goals get accomplished, opportunities for success arise, and accomplishments are celebrated.

A true leader expects accountability but never dictates. Instead, the leader is part of the action, follows through, and contributes to the solution by encouraging others to make informative decisions. This type of leader doesn‘t just “talk the talk, but walks the walk,” right alongside co-workers.

A true leader has a vision for the future and tackles that vision with knowledge and servant leadership. The words, ”Don’t worry, we are going to do this together,“ gains the trust and respect needed to help others become motivated and grow without any intimidation.

A true leader inspires others to be 100% in order to achieve goals and raise self-confidence enough to do what is right and effective for the team.

A true leader informs. Transparency diminishes second-guessing and surprises because improvement is known, missions are upheld, and issues are handled.

A true leader speaks with empathy, even during the hard talks. Speaking in a manner that is mindful and compassionate will always be admired. Sometimes the lessons learned trickle down, and greatness happens when others become leaders themselves.

I have been fortunate enough to work alongside true leaders, and because of that, I have become a better version of myself and achieved goals my younger self could have never envisioned.

Thank you to all my leaders.
